New London Main Street works through four core committees - Design, Economic Enhancement,Organization, and Promotion each with a distinct but complementary work plan geared towards strengthening the economic base, improving the image, and marketing The District. The program is based upon the model developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Main Street Center and is part of a network of 1,200 programs nationwide that share strategies and tactics.
In addition, there are five governing committees which assist the Board of Directors in the performance of its responsibilities. These governing committees are: Executive, Finance, Development, Organization, and Governance.
Your participation is welcome on any of the New London Main Street committees. You can volunteer to work on one of the on-going program committees, work once or twice a year on one of our special events or projects, or take on some of the essential administrative tasks in our office. The volunteer opportunities are only limited by your time and interest. The projects below offer opportunities to participate in our efforts. Please contact us to volunteer or inquire about specific tasks and initiatives. We'd love to hear from you!
