Sabrina Olenik has always been interested in photography. Although she only took one photography class in high school, she began to pursue photography seriously after her son was born, and she has learned much of what she knows through online sources.

Sabrina grew up in Groton. She began exploring the world of photography after the birth of her son; she wanted to capture every moment with him. She explained that the three most important things in her life are her husband, her son and photography, and that so long as she has them she’s happy.

The name for the studio comes from the movie Crazy Beautiful; Sabrina also feels that it describes her work. She likes being in New London because it’s close to home and she feels that it’s an inviting area. While she started her business in December 2010, Sabrina did not open her New London studio until March 2011.

A large part of her clientele is military; friends and those who hear about her through word of mouth make up the rest. Her photography focuses on: family, children, weddings, boudoir and a little bit of everything. She started in landscape photography, but found that it was not to her liking.

Sabrina does more shoots at the studio but she is hoping to soon be able to do more on location. She uses digital when taking pictures as she finds developing in film tedious. She utilizes both color and black and white photography, and she uses Photoshop for different effects. Sabrina is a solo act, but when she has more time she would like to hire an assistant. Sabrina’s hours are by appointment, and she has both a website and a Facebook page.
