Board Meetings and Rainy Days

It’s hard to believe that another week has come and gone at my internship here at New London Main Street. Everyone continues to be warm, welcoming and wonderful.

I had the privilege of attending the orientation for our new board members last week. The meeting was interesting and taught me a lot about New London Main Street and how it operates. The meeting took place at Tony D’s which gave me an opportunity to sample their food. Best of all, everyone I met was welcoming and friendly and made me feel like I belonged there.

I also had the opportunity to interview the owner of Whaling City Insurance last week. Ms. Cathcart was interesting, friendly and enthusiastic. The article was posted to our website yesterday, and I would love if you took a few minutes to read it.

Monday brought rain and an important lesson to be learned. When it rains, honestly and seriously rains, New London gets very wet very quickly. I wish I had realized that before I left my raincoat and rain boots at home.

Luckily Tuesday brought sunshine and the opportunity to go out with Rebecca and take photos to go with several of my articles. The articles on Stone Fleet Tavern and Whaling City Insurance have been published on the website, and I am interviewing Kelly Hulse of Kelly’s on the Bank today!

Remember to keep an eye out for my article about Kelly’s on the Bank, and if you have an opportunity, come visit downtown New London. One look at our website will remind you that there is always something to do!
