Elsewhere in this great City of New London, we want to let you know of an exhibit by a great artist who just happened to be a lifeguard here at Ocean Beach Park years ago. The varied and award-winning artwork of longtime New London native Mark Shasha will be featured this summer at the Custom House Maritime Museum, 150 Bank Street, New London, Connecticut. The show runs from Saturday, July 14th to September 15th, 2012. His children's book, Night of the Moonjellies is a wonderful tale of a boy growing up in New London.

An opening reception with the artist is planned for Saturday, July 14th 2pm-4pm. Shasha will be available for questions and answers at the museum from 1-5pm on Sunday, July 15th as well. Shasha's art has been seen in galleries, museums, magazines and newspapers for decades.
