Cindy Walker's winning poster, On the Waterfront, is a delightful look through the artist's eye at summertime along the banks of the Thames in downtown New London. Her depiction captures festivites at the new Waterfront Park as well as a variety of boats, ferries, and tall ships traveling the river.
Cindy Walker was born in Japan and raised in Hawaii. She attended college in California, earning a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art, Drawing and Painting. After college she settled in Oregon for what turned into twenty years!
While working as a graphic artist she continued to pursue her love for fine art, doing everything from murals to illustration. She moved to Connecticut in 2000 with her husband and two children. She is enjoying the inspiration of living along the coastline and all the artistic outlets it provides.
Interested in obtaining copies of our posters for your home or office? The 2003 poster is sold out, but our other posters are available for purchase by visiting the Main Street office or by phoning us at 860-444-CITY (2489).
Posters are $15 for members or $20 for non-members. Posters are also avilable signed by the artist for an additional $10 or framed for an additional $20. To have your unframed poster mailed, please send a check, including $3 for shipping and handling, to the Main Street office; framed posters must be picked up at the Main Street office.
