Organization Committee Chair's Report, Fall 2007
The new membership subcommittee, meeting for the first time in June, has begun developing a plan to increase membership for the 2007-2008 fiscal year. Already off to a great start, the initial renewal letter, written in collaboration with committee members Deena Gordon, Joanne Gibson, and summer intern Emily Ayer, and featuring an eye-catching photo of a bustling Courtyard Café, was mailed out in June 2007. To date, Main Street has received a total of 142 new and renewed memberships! Our goal is to surpass last year's membership level of 210. We're well on our way! Thank you to all who have already joined or renewed! Anyone interested in joining the membership subcommittee can contact Joanne Gibson or call Chair Kerin Woods at 860-442-0367.
Also, something new on the membership front, you can now join or renew on-line through our website. Simply click on "About" and then "joining" to follow instructions to pay via Paypal.
Exciting news: Joshua Foley, a recently elected New London Main Street Board Member, has graciously agreed to take over as Organization Committee Chair. Josh has been actively involved in the ongoing Main Street website redesign. Welcome, Josh!
The Organization Committee meets monthly on the fourth Monday at 5:00 PM at the Main Street office.
