Connecticut Main Street Program
Connecticut Main Street Center
The Connecticut Main Street Center is a non-profit corporation devoted to the revitalization of Connecticut's downtown districts by spurring economic development within the context of historic preservation. They provide human resources for training, assistance, and technical support. Each community must provide its own financial base.
New London Main Street's Wet Paint Week and Poster Program won the 2004 award for best Image Enhancement Campaign from Connecticut Main Street Center. According to the 2004 Connecticut Main Street Awards report, "The popularity of this image campaign has created a wonderful esprit de corps among local artists and hundreds of residents and visitors to beautiful downtown New London. Congratulations New London Main Street!"
