Shop Thursday Evenings in New London
Thursdays, from November 29 to December 27: New London's Historic Waterfront District is "open" again tonight (Dec. 27) for shopping and dining among the festively decorated stores and restaurants. Engage in post-Christmas shopping at its best in the district's specialty shops, such as, Peacock Feathers, Maxwell's Restaurant Equipment, Thames River Greenery Imports, Flavours of Life, O! Brasil, Michael's Dairy Downtown, and Sarge's Comics. Unique 'tween holiday shopping can also be found in Empress of Art, Golden Street Gallery, MUSE, Ya-Ta-Hay Gallery, Curves, Nancy's Salon or the Waterhouse Salon.
On Decmber 27, at 8 PM, the downtown business chosen by customers as having the best holiday decorations will be announced by Frank McLaughlin, New London Main Street President, durng a cermony at the chosen business.
While the day after Thanksgiving may be called "black Friday," by some, come see what "Golden Thursday" means for you while visiting Bean and Leaf, Marieke's South Side Bistro, Brie & Bleu, Thames River Wine & Spirits, the Gourmet Galley (in the Crocker House lobby), or any of the downtown's full-service restaurants, taverns, and pubs.
On December 20: Enjoy the Good Old Days. Discover the Parade of Christmas Trees & Other Surprises in the Historic Waterfront District on Thursday Nights. Community Carol Sing on December 20, 2007 at 7 PM.
Downtown shops, including Empress of Art Gallery & Boutique, Golden Street Gallery, Flavours of Life, O! Brasil, Peacock Feathers, MUSE, The Custom House Museum Store, Thames River Greenery Imports, New London Antiques Center, and newcomer Curves on Bank Street will be open until 9 PM, with perhaps an interesting happening at the Hygienic Gallery. Also enjoy Michael's Dairy Downtown, Marieke's South Side Bistro, Brie & Bleu, Thames River Wine & Spirits, Bean and Leaf and all of downtown's full-service restaurants, taverns, and pubs. Newcomer Maxwell's Kitchen Supply, offering everything for the kitchen, and old favorites like Sarge's Comics, will add to the array of holiday gift possibilities, or treat yourself to a visit to Nancy's Salon or Waterhouse Salon.
Enjoy the good old days and the spirit of the season. Save gas and time. Shop and dine in downtown on Thursday evenings!

Come Carol & Stroll Downtown!
Come Join the Community Carol Sing!! Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 7 PM beginning in front of Michael's Dairy Downtown, 60 Bank Street in downtown New London. The community sing will be led by local guitarist, Randy Hogg. Randy will lead traditional carols and other popular songs while strolling among New London's downtown shops, galleries, restaurants, and taverns. The Community Sing is sponsored by Michael's Dairy Downtown.
