Mystic Whaler Sails Into New London
On Friday, June 23, 2006, 5 PM, the sailing Schooner Mystic Whaler sailed into New London and made New London its home port. There was Music of the Sea, wine, and hors-d'oeuvres. Portrait of a City: The New London Project took place at venues around the city.
A reception welcomed the crew at City Pier Plaza, which was hosted by the City of New London and New London Main Street. State and federal legislators, commissioners, city councilors and regional business leaders sailed on board for the inaugural trip into port which was sponsored by UBS with support by Thames River Wine and Spirits.
