So much to do! Afraid you'll miss something? Need help scheduling your day? We've included the schedules for most events here for you. Print it and make your plans for the day. All events are within reasonable walking distance from one another and there's parking aplenty downtown.

The New London Community Boating's sailboat races along the Thames River run from 11 AM to 3 PM.

Learn how to sail in Optimist sailboats provided by New London Community Boating. Swimming lessons will also be given at Greens Harbor Beach, Pequot Avenue & Converse Place, New London.

Children must be at least nine years old and no more than seventeen. They do not need to know how to swim. Bus transportation and snacks are provided. Groups or individuals are welcome. Registrations forms are available in school offices, at the New London Recreation Department, or by calling Carolyn Leuze at 860.443.2517 or by emailing Becca Wesley, head instructor at Becsails@aol.com

Fishing Tournament Schedule

Children are invited to fish and compete to catch the biggest, smallest, and weirdest fish caught - to name a few. Every child receives a prize and free lunch!Participants must bring their own fishing pole! Come and join in the fun! You never know what you'll catch! The Age Groups are:

  • Minnows: Ages 5-7 (Adult supervision required)
  • Barracudas: Ages 8-10
  • Sharks: Ages 11-12
  • Whales: Ages 13-15

Schedule

  • Registration at the Fishing Pier: 8-9am
  • Fishing Contest: 9am-12pm
  • Hot dogs, chips & soda served to participants: 12pm-1pm
  • Prizes awarded: 1pm
