Children have even been invited to participate this year with Wet Paint Peewees!

The Wet Paint Gallery will be located at the Hygienic Art Park at 79-83 Bank Street on Saturday and Sunday. Artists are invited to participate and compete for cash prizes, which will be awarded on Sunday. They will also be eligible for a rare chance to have their artwork created into a poster for Main Street's Annual Poster Project! Registration is open to all area artists. The application form can be downloaded here. (PDF, 132 KB, Updated 2007-08-24) Deadline for registration is August 31, 2007.

Children & Young Artists Invited to Participate in Wet Paint

Local and regional artists planning to participate in Wet Paint Week will have some pretty tough competition. New London Main Street and the Lyman Allyn Art Museum have teamed up to produce Wet Paint Peewees - a free watercolor painting program for children of all ages on September 8, 2007 from 10 AM to 12PM.

Lyman Allyn staff will be on hand at Parade Plaza, adjacent to the Nathan Hale Schoolhouse, to share techniques and assist young artists in capturing local scenery to produce fantastic pictures. Crayons, watercolors, collage materials, salt and plastic wrap will be provided free of charge. For inquiries, please contact Jane Seney, Director of Education, Lyman Allyn Art Museum at 860.443.2545 x110 or seney@lymanallyn.org.
