Wick is best known as co-creator of the I Spy series of books, exhibits the sets from which he creates wonderful photographs; three-dimensional models and large-scale photographs of great imagination and verve. Wick grew up in rural Connecticut, and works in Hartford. Most of Wick's books challenge readers to solve visual riddles or puzzles created from the thousands of props he has collected at his studio, a renovated firehouse in the Hartford's south end.

100 Years of New London Tugs
Sun, Jan 04, 2009 to Wed, Apr 15, 2009: The Custom House Maritime Museum, West Gallery, 150 Bank Street. Materials dating back to the early 20th century from New London's Thames Shipyard. Artifacts include half hull ship models, archival records and photographs. There will also be tug boat paintings by several contemporary maritime artists, William Hanson and James Magner among them.

Let's Get Going On Better Rail NYC to Boston and Beyond!
Fri, Jan 09, 2009: 10 AM-3 PM. Regional Transportation Forum. Presented by The Connecticut Chapter of the Sierra Club & The National Corridors Initiative, Inc at the Radisson Hotel, Governor Winthrop Boulevard. This forum will focus on the rail and transit projects in the Northeast that are "low-hanging-fruit," and what we can do to help move them forward. We will explore how highways and rail are funded and how the current system has crippled transportation in America. There is opportunity NOW with a stimulus package being put together in Washington to demand action from our delegation by using that funding to improve and expand rail and transit systems.
